What’s In Your Sporran?

For us kilties, I would say that 99% of us wear a sporran with our kilt. I have always wondered what folks carry in their sporran and I thought that I would share what I carry in mine.

So, I dumped my sporran and took a quick picture.

What you see in this picture is pretty much what I carry every day, except for the flashlight. I don’t always carry my flashlight, but the day that I took this picture, there must have been a reason, so I happen to be carrying it.

If you are a prepper of sorts, odds are you have an EDC also. In fact, most people have EDC and don’t even think about it.

Mine is pretty simple and slimmed down from over the years.

In fact, here is a picture of my old EDC, I practically was wearing a Batman Utility Belt.

As you can see, I have slimmed things down.

Now I need to also say that I have not gotten my C&C again since returning to the US, so I don’t carry my glock. But, if I had it, I would add it to the current EDC picture.

Starting at the top left and going right…my keys which also have a fire starter, a P-38 can opener and a mini flashlight. The P-38 I have had since the army and has served me well over the last 30 years. The little flashlight is by Streamlight and it is a great add on to my key ring. They are 10 lumen and have helped me find many a key hole.

Then there is my Bushnell 400 Lum Flashlight, which is a good flashlight. I also have my Fenix that I carry but I like the Bushnell more for tactical reason as it doubles as a weapon and if it breaks, no real loss.

Next you see my Cold Steel Xl Voyager Clip Point Knife. This is my primary EDC knife and when open the entire knife is almost 12” long from tip to pommel. I also have a Cold Steel Ti-lite XL that I carry when I am going into the city.

You see my phone and then you see my money clip, which for the life of me, I can not find anymore on Amazon. When I have run across them, they were selling for about $50. These are great money clips and I have been able to get them through airport security no problem.

Next you see my Leatherman Skeletool CX – I have owned this since it first came out. This is an INCREDIBLE tool to carry and truly has everything you NEED… not want, but NEED. This little baby has gotten me out of a number of problems and I still carry it to this day. Now the one that I own is the CX model, which has carbon fiber replacing some of the steel parts. This has trimmed the weight down a bit and makes it rather comfortable to keep in your sporran.

Finally, there is my Uzi Pen. I love this pen and I paid about $10.00 for it. In fact, the link I have given below shows it being only $11.00. This is a great pen and feels great in the hand. I love the weight and how it writes. This also doubles as kubaton. With both ends being pointed, you can do a lot of damage to a person with this pen.

Conclusion

This is what I carry just about every day. It is very easy to keep on you and also everything is very practical. The only real “expensive” items would be the knife and skeltool, everything else in my EDC is affordable. You can always add to this like my older EDC where I was carrying my Glock, extra mag and a flashlight as well as many knives you can carry.
